Donations from the Sarah Beckett Memorial Run benefit our Community Youth Intervention Program.

The needs of today’s children and youth are more complex. At BGC South Vancouver Island, our Community Youth Intervention Program (CYIP) focuses on supporting middle-years youth in School District 62 who are at risk of disengaging with their school, community and peers. This is a voluntary program for youth primarily in Grades 5-9 who struggle to maintain supportive relationships, connections to school, pro-social activities and demonstrate mental health or behavioural issues in school or in community.

Our Clubs see firsthand how profoundly and disproportionately mental health and food insecurity impacts kids. BGC South Vancouver Island outreach workers are a lifeline to help them picture a positive future.  Proceeds from the run have a positive and direct impact on local youth in this program.  Thank you for your support!
