Spring Break Camp

Experts increasingly emphasize the positive links between quality child and youth programs and positive development. We believe in creating communities where children are active and healthy, where they feel safe and where their voices are heard and valued. Our Club and Camp programs do all this and more!

Program Accessibility and Inclusion at BGCSVI
BGCSVI is committed to including all children in our programs, regardless of race, culture, ability, gender, or family background. We work closely with the Queen Alexandra Centre for Children’s Health Supported Child Development (SCD) Program to support children with extra needs. We have been granted inclusion support funding to support children attending our Spring Break Camps.

Camps and Registration for Inclusion Support:
  • Families register for Spring Break Camps through the ESIKIDZ system.
  • Indicate if Inclusion Worker support is needed, and our staff will follow up.
  • Priority for support is given to current internal families
BGCSVI Program Accessibility Steps:

1.    Gather Information: Collect details about the child, including their specific needs, strengths, and challenges.
2.    Evaluate Requirements: Assess what accommodations, additional staffing, training, resources, or procedures may be needed to support the child.
3.    Program Capability: Determine whether our program can provide safe and effective care for all participants, considering the required accommodations.
4.    Create a Care Plan: Develop a written care plan in consultation with the family and any relevant external agencies, outlining specific support strategies.
5.    Implement and Monitor: Put the care plan into action, documenting daily successes, challenges, behavioral trends, and any adjustments needed to ensure ongoing support
