Ready to Become a Leader? Join our Leadership in Training Program!
The Leadership in Training (LIT) program at Camp Wildwood in Metchosin is designed to give youth a meaningful opportunity to develop leadership skills, gain hands-on experience, and build confidence in a supportive camp environment.
Participants will begin with a dedicated training week from June 29 to July 3 (excluding Canada Day on July 1, when Camp Wildwood is closed). They will also take part in a Paddle Canada training session on June 14, supporting skill development in outdoor safety and paddling.
Following training, participants will complete 2–3 weeks of summer placement at Camp Wildwood (scheduled based on their availability). During these placement weeks, youth will work alongside staff to support camper groups while also participating in leadership workshops led by staff and community members.
The cost of the program is $550. Upon successful completion of the training week and at least two placement weeks, participants will receive a certificate of program completion, a letter of reference from the program manager and program supervisor, and a $75 honorarium.
