At BGC South Vancouver Island, we are committed to ensuring that the highest quality of service and programming is provided to every child, youth, and family we serve.
We voluntarily undergo accreditation to further our commitment to excellence, including CARF International, child care licensing, and National peer evaluations.
Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
Accreditation by CARF is voluntary, and BGC South Vancouver Island is proud to be recognized by CARF. Providers that meet CARF standards have demonstrated their commitment to being among the best available.
CARF International accreditation demonstrates a program’s quality, transparency, and commitment to the satisfaction of the persons served. CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services.
BGC South Vancouver Island is fully accredited by the CARF agency.
Licensing
The Child Care Licensing Regulation, as set out by the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, establishes the minimum standards that must be met in a licensed child care program to ensure that the health, safety, and developmental needs of children are met. Licensed Child Care staff are trained to monitor the child care program’s compliance with the legislation.
Peer Review
National Peer Review ensures Clubs across Canada are achieving the Operational Standards and meeting Membership Requirements of being a BGC Club. Peer Review is unique in that it also celebrates the strength of our movement and builds capacity across clubs to share experiences, maximize resources, and pursue promising practices. BGC South Vancouver Island was one of the first Clubs in Canada to achieve a successful Peer Review.
